The EBT is many things to many people. For me, it's a way of life. From June
through October I can be found on the property taking pictures and video,
helping with speeder rides, riding the train, and volunteering my time. My
experience at the EBT has given me many things including cherished memories
from my childhood. Through this website I'll attempt to show you a side of
the EBT which mostly stays hidden from the general public.
The EBT is special in many ways. Everything from the locomotives to the rolling
stock, from the buildings to the tools in the shops is original. The EBT operates
on the original right-of-way over original rails and bridges. When you visit,
you're not just visiting some little tourist line. You are riding the most complete,
intact, oldest-operating narrow gauge railroad anywhere in the United States. This
living museum is the last of it's kind.
The railroad itself is not the only thing that keeps me around. The crew, the friends,
the memories, the atmosphere; All combine to make an experience of a lifetime I hold
dearly to my heart. There are other things in life besides the EBT, don't get me wrong.
But sometimes it's hard to pull yourself away from something so great.
